The chances for that are practically non-existant. In fact, the only transportation (to/from school) related injuries/deaths among students in the area where I live has been 2 (1 dead, 1 severely injured last I heard), out of about 10,000 students (three high schools, a couple dozen elementary schools, and three intermediate) as far back as I can remember. And that was when the driver crashed his car (investigation underway still, don't know whether he's at fault or the driver of the truck that hit him), killing him and injuring his gf.

Well, that's what I'll be doing thanks to our school system (it sucks horribly, and I go to a national blue ribbon school).
