The model of Discipleship Training, as developed for later condensing, spans between the hard way beginning at “seeing where Jesus lived”, i.e., having a glimpse of his divine presence by the first two disciples (John 1:39); and the narrow gate to life, i.e., meditating in the “Temple of his body” or God’s self-revelation just for “looking at him whom they pierced” in the resurrection appearances proper --an “open house” for sustainable faith first sampled by a handful of people and one early disciple (Matt. 27: 51-56; John 19: 34-37 as recollected in 2: 21-22).

Summary of the training can be found in the 40-days of rehabilitation and rehearsal, for all the apostles, on the infallible proof of Jesus’ immortality at his death on the cross (Acts 1: 3); reinforced by their baptism with the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost and Peter’s immediate application of his new found faith (Acts 2).

Therefore, it is no wonder that Paul’s later conversion, commissioning and ministry are based wholly on the short version of “a clear description of the death of Jesus Christ on the cross” as key to firsthand, personal and sustainable knowledge of God!

If the Gospel of Jesus Christ is déjà vu, better check it again!
