6. “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one goes to the Father except by me.
7. Now that you have known me, you will know my Father also, and from now on you do know him and have seen him.”
If one makes allowance for Jesus Christ’s typically humble testimony on his own behalf, one can possibly conclude, with reasonable certainty, that he said he is the only way to God (Verse 6) because he himself is God Almighty, in person, as intimated next (Verse 7).
More conclusively, however, the infallible and experientially verifiable proof for his divine identity as “I Am Who I Am”, God Almighty, the source of life-transforming, self-sufficiency (immortality), lies in his death on the cross, in the completely useless and superfluous flesh –a far greater, once-and-for-all, awesome demonstration of “resurrection and life” than the one-time fire and the burning but wholly unconsumed and superfluous bush given to Moses with a greater promise for posterity (Ex. 3: 1-15; John 8: 21-28; 11: 25-26; 19: 30-37).
7. Now that you have known me, you will know my Father also, and from now on you do know him and have seen him.”
