If “Christ is the key that opens all the hidden treasures of God’s wisdom and knowledge” (Col. 2:3), there is no other way of studying the Bible profitably than, first and foremost, knowing Jesus Christ firsthand through personal vision of the slain “Lamb standing in the centre of the throne”, i.e., with all power, wealth, wisdom, honor, glory and praise! This is the significance of the widely unpopular diacritical death of Jesus Christ on the cross (Matt. 16: 13-28)!

In the standard crucifixion-based vision, Jesus can be seen winning victory over the Devil and death, through his death –expressed as the “Lamb appears to have been killed” but, at the same time, “worthy of breaking the seals and opening the scroll”.

It is the absence of anyone “in heaven or on earth or in the world below who could open the scroll and look inside it” that was the reason for the Apostle’s prophetic bitter cry (Rev. 5).
