Marjorie Pay Hinckley, wife of LDS Church President Gordon B. Hinckley, died at 5:05 p.m. Tuesday at her home, surrounded by family, of causes incident to age. She was 92.

In tribute to his wife on Sunday, President Hinckley said of her, "We've walked together, side by side, all these many years, co-equals and companions through storm and sunshine."

I can't begin to understand the profound grief that Mr. Hinckley and his family must be feeling.

I pray that they find comfort in the God of peace.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus

"She was a distinguished lady, a rather settled person, who I believe operated with a great deal of dignity. I believe we'll all share the grief of the family, and we'll certainly pray that they'll be comforted in the empty space that she leaves." — The Rev. France Davis, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Salt Lake City
