Insulting Veterans???

Ok, I know Phelps and his followers are squirrels- they need our prayer- but insulting Veterans killed in service to our country (http://www.godhatesamerica.com/) is simply going too far. Perhaps it is my upbringing and conditioning but I was raised to have respect for those in the armed forces and especially for Veterans killed or injured in the line of duty.

I'm glad I don't have to sing their hymns as well as they are filled with vitriol and hate:

I never heard of phelps before, but after visiting his site I think I'm going to be sick. He's nothing but a worthless hate-monger. It sounds like if you disagree with him, his basic response is "Your going to hell". Is there any group that he likes? He takes shots, at america, canada, gays, space shuttle, and pat tillman. I don't think there is any way in "hell" that this guy could have a rational discussion.

Fortunately Phelps is representative of a very tiny minority of Christians who subscribe to portions of Old Testament Law without tempering it with the Good News of the Gospel. Unfortunately he's been around for a long time- protesting virtually everything under the sun except memorizing the Book of Leviticus. I knew he and his church are extreme (and not in a positive way) but the business of arbitrarily condemning American war dead to hell is most unnerving.

Phelps and his followers are getting their POV from Scripture, but their interpretation of Scripture leaves no room for grace. These people, like us, are sinners in need of God's forgiveness and grace. :pray: :pray: :pray:

Phelps and his followers are very small people with very small minds. I pray the grace of God on them so that they might learn the love that Christ preached.

I have never been to NYC but isn't the gay district in NYC Greenwich Village, and isn't that quite a way away from where the Twin Towers were?

Per capita I believe San Francisco has more gay people than any other US city, and Columbus, OH has the distinction of being the "second most gay city" in the US. Going by this logic, I better watch out- I live just outside of Columbus and I work inside the city: therefore the terrorists are going to blast the daylights out of San Francisco, then hit downtown Columbus paying special attention to German Village, Victorian Village and the OSU campus,(which are the Columbus "gay districts.")

Oh, NO!! They just bombed the White Castle headquarters!!!!!

It's sad that non-Christians think that all Christians are like Phelps. He and those who think along his lines are a minutely tiny minority. I am thankful for that.
