Deu 25:7 And if the man does not wish to take his brother's wife, then his brother's wife shall go up to the gate to the elders and say, 'My husband's brother refuses to perpetuate his brother's name in Israel; he will not perform the duty of a husband's brother to me.'

Just wondering, does modern Judaism still require blokes to sire children with their dead brother's wife? Does it only count if the living brother is unmarried?

Thanks.

That's because you were being a disobedient Jew again, Eli, and not using the browser of choice for Tweb - viz., Mozilla Firefox!

In my firefox (which uses the Noia 2.0 theme) I can even create Tiny Urls by doing a right click and selecting "Creat TinyURL for this page" because of the 1337 extensions I've installed. TinyURL must not like disobedient Christians :P :P :P

Sorry bout that!

It has generally not been practiced, a large part of the reason is because polygamy is illegal in virtually all places Jews live.

So it did actually involve marriage? If you are unmarried an your brother dies leaving no children are you then supposed to marry your sister in law?

Why do you ask? Did you brother die?

Be well!
