The Destruction of Jerusalem AD 70 = The Second Coming

Matthew 22
1Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying: 2"The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son <= Wedding language = Revelation 19 – 22. 3He sent his servants to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come, but they refused to come. <= Teachers of the law and Pharisees. 4"Then he sent some more servants and said, 'Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner: My oxen and fattened cattle have been butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.' <= Wedding language = Revelation 19 – 22 fulfilled.
5"But they paid no attention and went off--one to his field, another to his business. 6The rest seized his servants, mistreated them and killed them. 7The king was enraged. He sent his army and destroyed those murderers and burned their city. <= Wedding takes place at destruction of Jerusalem AD 70: Therefore Revelation 19 - 22 is fulfilled.

Matthew 23
29"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! <= Same event as spoken of in Matthew 22 above. You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the graves of the righteous. 30And you say, 'If we had lived in the days of our forefathers, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.' 31So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets. 32Fill up, then, the measure of the sin of your forefathers!
33"You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell? <= Condemned to hell at this judgment = The Great White Throne Judgment. 34Therefore I am sending you prophets and wise men and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify; others you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town. 35And so upon you will come all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. <= Revelation 17–18 fulfilled. Babylon in Revelation = Jerusalem: blood of prophets and saints on it’s hands. 36I tell you the truth, all this will come upon this generation. <= The judgment would come upon the generation Jesus was speaking with at that time.
37"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing. 38Look, your house is left to you desolate. <= The destruction of Jerusalem AD 70 = wedding took place (See Matthew 22 above) = Revelation 19 - 22 fulfilled.

Matthew 24
2"Do you see all these things?" he asked. "I tell you the truth, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down." <= Destruction of Jerusalem AD 70.

15"So when you see standing in the holy place 'the abomination that causes desolation,' spoken of through the prophet Daniel--let the reader understand-- 16then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. <= Destruction of Jerusalem AD 70.

30"At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. 31And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other <= The second coming, rapture, resurrection.

34I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. <= Destruction Of Jerusalem AD 70, in the generation Jesus was speaking with at that time.

Luke 19
43The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side. <= Destruction of Jerusalem AD 70. 44They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God's coming to you." <= Destruction of Jerusalem AD 70 is when God was coming to them.

Luke 21
20"When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near. <= Destruction of Jerusalem AD 70. 21Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the city get out, and let those in the country not enter the city. 22For this is the time of punishment in fulfillment of all that has been written. <= All which was written was fulfilled in the destruction of Jerusalem. This includes the second coming, rapture, resurrection.

Hebrews 9
8The Holy Spirit was showing by this that the way into the Most Holy Place had not yet been disclosed as long as the first tabernacle was still standing. <= Destruction of Jerusalem AD 70.

28so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, <= Second coming is the destruction of Jerusalem AD 70. not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

Daniel 12
1 "At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. <= See Matthew 24:21. But at that time your people-everyone whose name is found written in the book-will be delivered. 2 Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever. <= Resurrection. 4 But you, Daniel, close up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge." 5 Then I, Daniel, looked, and there before me stood two others, one on this bank of the river and one on the opposite bank. 6 One of them said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, "How long will it be before these astonishing things are fulfilled?" <= The astonishing things mentioned in verses 1 through 3. 7 The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, lifted his right hand and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him swear by him who lives forever, saying, "It will be for a time, times and half a time. When the power of the holy people has been finally broken, all these things will be completed." <= Resurrection completed at the destruction of Jerusalem AD 70.

Coming On Clouds = The Use Of Armies

Isaiah 19
1 An oracle concerning Egypt: See, the LORD rides on a swift cloud and is coming to Egypt. The idols of Egypt tremble before him, and the hearts of the Egyptians melt within them.

Isaiah 20
1 In the year that the supreme commander, sent by Sargon king of Assyria, came to Ashdod and attacked and captured it- 2 at that time the LORD spoke through Isaiah son of Amoz. He said to him, "Take off the sackcloth from your body and the sandals from your feet." And he did so, going around stripped and barefoot.
3 Then the LORD said, "Just as my servant Isaiah has gone stripped and barefoot for three years, as a sign and portent against Egypt and Cush, 4 so the king of Assyria will lead away stripped and barefoot the Egyptian captives and Cushite exiles, young and old, with buttocks bared-to Egypt's shame. 5 Those who trusted in Cush and boasted in Egypt will be afraid and put to shame. 6 In that day the people who live on this coast will say, 'See what has happened to those we relied on, those we fled to for help and deliverance from the king of Assyria! How then can we escape?' "

Ezekiel 30 3 For the day is near, the day of the LORD is near - a day of clouds, a time of doom for the nations.

Ezekiel 30 17 The young men of Heliopolis and Bubastis will fall by the sword, and the cities themselves will go into captivity. 18 Dark will be the day at Tahpanhes when I break the yoke of Egypt; there her proud strength will come to an end. She will be covered with clouds, and her villages will go into captivity. 19 So I will inflict punishment on Egypt, and they will know that I am the LORD .' "

Compare the above ALREADY FULFILLED prophecies above with the scriptures below. Is it any surprise that when Jesus said he was COMING ON CLOUDS that he would use an ARMY to destroy a nation just as God did in the Old Testament? Jerusalem was destroyed AD 70. In the exact GENERATION that Jesus said it would be. AMEN !!!

Mark 14
61But Jesus remained silent and gave no answer.
Again the high priest asked him, "Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?"
62"I am," said Jesus. "And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven."
63The high priest tore his clothes. "Why do we need any more witnesses?" he asked.

Luke 21
20"When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near. 21Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the city get out, and let those in the country not enter the city. 22For this is the time of punishment in fulfillment of all that has been written.

32"I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.

If not for viewing revelation as the destruction of Jerusalem in the first century, I also would have problems with the bible. Reve chapt 11 shows judgement, vengeance and rewards coming for the firstfruit saints of the first century.

Revelation 11:1 Then I was given a reed like a measuring rod. And the angel stood, saying, "Rise and measure the temple of God, the altar, and those who worship there(jews). 2 "But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfoot [for] forty-two months........
...........17 saying: "We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, The One who is and who was and who is to come, Because You have taken Your great power and reigned. 18 The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, And the time of the dead, that they should be judged, And that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, And those who fear Your name, small and great, And should destroy those who destroy the earth."
reve 17:16 "And the ten horns/KINGS which you saw on the beast, these will hate the harlot, make her desolate and naked, eat her flesh and burn her with fire. 17 "For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind/judgement, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled. 18 "And the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth." I don't believe this is a literal "mountain" being picked up by God and cast into the "sea" but the end and wrath on a CITY not the WORLD, as reve 19 shows everyone watching the Great City BURN FOREVER. This represents the house of Judah/Levi and Jerusalem as prophecied in the Bible.
I believe revelation is the fulfillment of the bible and the "creeds" need to be looked at concerning the "nature" of the resurrection and coming in the first century, as those "creeds" have done nothing to bring the churches into being of One Mine, but rather have FAILED miserably and pit religion and beliefs against each other. How sad. God bless.

reve 8:8 Then the second angel sounded: And [something] like a Great Mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood......

reve 19:3 Again they said, "Alleluia! Her smoke rises up forever and ever!"

reve 17:4 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication.

Jeremi 51 6 Flee from the midst of Babylon, And every one save his life! Do not be cut off in her iniquity, For this the time of the LORD's vengeance; He shall recompense her. [i]7 Babylon [was] a golden cup in the LORD's hand, That made all the earth drunk. The nations drank her wine; Therefore the nations are deranged. 25 "Behold, I [am] against you, O destroying mountain, Who destroys all the earth," says the LORD. "And I will stretch out My hand against you, Roll you down from the rocks, And make you a burnt mountain.

zech 4:7 'Who [are] you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel [you shall become] a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone With shouts of "Grace, grace to it!" '

Jeremiah 17:1 "The sin of Judah [is] written with a pen of iron; With the point of a diamond [it is] engraved On the tablet of their heart, And on the horns of your altars, 2 While their children remember Their altars and their wooden images By the green trees on the high hills. 3 O My mountain in the field, I will give as plunder your wealth, all your treasures, [And] your high places of sin within all your borders. 4 And you, even yourself, Shall let go of your heritage which I gave you; And I will cause you to serve your enemies In the land which you do not know; For you have kindled a fire in My anger [which] shall burn forever."

Jeruseum was not destroyed in 70AD. The temple and the dispersal of the Jews did not take place until about 50 years later. Many of the other prophecies are not fulfilled either like the restoration of the Jewish Homeland after the complete dispersal of the Jews.

Jeruseum was not destroyed in 70AD. The temple and the dispersal of the Jews did not take place until about 50 years later. Many of the other prophecies are not fulfilled either like the restoration of the Jewish Homeland after the complete dispersal of the Jews.Well, if you are thinking of a "physical" homeland, all the Israelites of the house of Judah were scattered after God sent the roman army in to destroy the temple and Jerusalem, and since Jesus brought worshipping in the spirit instead of physical sacrifices, it may be a loooonnnggg time before the messiah of Israel comes. And even when He does, He will do the same thing our messiah did, destroy the rulers and corrupt priests and jerusalem.
BTW, why do Israelites call themselves "jews"? Why are most OT prophecies against Judah/Jerusalem and not Israel? Revelation is indeed showing that destruction and too bad the Israelites/jews don't take a look at it.
All ALL Israelites from the house of Judah? Do the "jews" of today believe it was by God's decree their temple and city were destroyed in the first century? Confusing to me.

What is the "capstone" referred to here? Is that another way of saying the "messiah?

zech 4:7 'Who [are] you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel [you shall become] a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone With shouts of "Grace, grace to it!" '

Revelation 11:1 Then I was given a reed like a measuring rod. False. Since the Jews were able to start a new rebellion around AD 130 this means that lots of them were still in Palestine. In fact, the second Jewish revolt was even more difficult to pu down than the first. Admirable Jews!

The Matthean prophecy of the end of times says very clearly that the end of the world will follow the destruction of Jerusalem. Falsified prophecy.

The Matthean prophecy of the end of times says very clearly that the end of the world will follow the destruction of Jerusalem. Falsified prophecy.Hi Magdalen.
Falsified prophecy?? Maybe Daniel and Jesus are both false prophets.http://www.awitness.org/lostmess/daniel.html

The bible talks about a new heaven and new earth. In this passage of Acts 2, why would God say "every nation under Heaven" in that "AGE".
Is matt 24 talking about a "holy place" concerning the OC temple in the first century or one in the future? Did God glorify Himself with that first century destruction(ezekiel 39 and revelation 19)? I and others believe so. Depends on how you view the old "heaven and earth" and the "end of the age". God bless.

acts 2:5 And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven. 6 And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language

matt 24:12 "And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 "But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. 15 " Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand),

hebrew 12:25 See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more [shall we not escape] if we turn away from Him who [speaks] from heaven, 26 whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, "Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven." 27 Now this, "Yet once more," indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken(OC temple), as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain. 28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. 29 For our God a consuming fire.

[i]This is the biggest false prophecy in the NT as Jesus appears to have lied about "all things written" in the bible would be fulfilled upon the destruction of Jerusalem, but I believe Jesus spoke the truth and revelation is the fulfillment of the bible. Otherwise, the whole bible is false.

luke 21:20 " But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near. 21 "Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in the country enter her. 22 "For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. 23 "But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people. 24 "And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

zeph 2:2 " I will utterly consume everything From the face of the land," Says the LORD; 3 "I will consume man and beast; I will consume the birds of the heavens, The fish of the sea, And the stumbling blocks along with the wicked. I will cut off man from the face of the land," Says the LORD. 4 "I will stretch out My hand against Judah, And against all the inhabitants of Jerusalem. I will cut off every trace of Baal from this place, The names of the idolatrous priests with the [pagan] priests --
