The watchtower tells its followers that they are God's mouthpiece and that God's revelations through them is 'light'

As time goes on, this light gets progressively clearer and brighter.

Since this light is revealed from God, we would expect it to always be building up truth upon truth but never contradicting old revelations, right?
I mean if men are behing an organization you would expect the light to flicker on and off, as the men changed their minds and reverse previous doctrines and so on, right? But if God is behind it, and he is revealing the truth, then the truth might become clearer, but it should never contradict any old revelations.

Well the Watchtower even claims that is true.

Right from the beginning they said:

"If we were following a man undoubtedly it would be different with us; undoubtedly one human idea would contradict another and that which was light one or two or six years ago would be regarded as darkness now: But with god there is no variableness, neither shadow of turning, and so it is with truth; any knowledge or light coming from god must be like its author. A new view of truth never can contradict a former truth. New light never extinguishes older light, but adds to it. If you were lighting up a building containing seven gas jets you would not extinguish one every time you lighted another, but would add one light to another and they would be in harmony and thus give increase of light. So is it with the light of truth; the true increase is by adding to, not by substituting one for another."

Well how does the watchtower hold up to their own standard?

Old Light - The Great Pyramid is built by God and in perfect harmony with God's plan and the bible:

Viewed from whatever standpoint we please, the Great Pyramid is certainly the most remarkable building in the world; but in the light of an investigation which has been in progress for the past thirty-two years, it acquires new interest to every Christian advanced in the study of God's Word; for it seems in a remarkable manner to teach, in harmony with all the prophets, an outline of the plan of God, past, present and future...

The Great Pyramid, however, proves to be a storehouse of important truth--scientific, historic and prophetic--and its testimony is found to be in perfect accord with the Bible,

...must be by the design or plan of the only personal being capable of such a plan, Jehovah himselfl and the chronology itself must be right.

In the passages of the Great Pyramid of Gizeh the agreement of one or two measurements with the present truth chronology might be accidental, but the correspondency of dozens of measurements proves that the same God designed both pyramid and plan -- and a the same time proves the correctness of the chronology...

...We affirm that Scripturally, scientifically, and historically, present-truth chronology is correct beyond a doubt.

***Blink****

New Light - The Great Pyramid is built by Satan and is Satan's bible.

If the pyramid is not mentioned in the bible then following its teachings is being led by vain philosophy and false science and is not following after Christ...

...It is more reasonable to conclude that the great pyramid of Gizeh, as well as the other pyramids therabout, also the sphinx, were built by the rulers of Egypt and under the direction of Satan the Devil.

...Then Satan put his knowledge in dead stone, which may be called Satan's Bible and not God's stone witness.

So, if new light is just supposed to suppliment old light and not supplant it, then this proves that right from the beginning the Watchtower is a man led organization and not being led by Jehovah God.

There are many other examples of new light reversing old light, and even of the watchtower flipping back and forth on various 'light' revelations, but I think we can just start with these and add the others as time permits.

Hiya John. I see they're not biting here either. Isn't it interesting that the JWs seem to want to distance themselves from the WT but still go to the KH?

Well as we have seen with Tsmith, you can argue all day long with a JW about a verse and it just becomes a ping pong match. The real power of the cult is the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. They pull the strings and claim to be the mouthpiece of Jehovah God. But as any one who wants to take a closer and honest look at their record can see, they are not speaking for God, but are merely a bunch of old men who are trying to control millions of people in order to sell their watchtower publications.

That's the problem with a cult that is basically run by the printed page. Every little thing they have ever done is right there for anyone to see. All of the false prophesies, the flip-flop doctrines, the outright lies, all there in black and white.

The Watchtower cult is, unfortunately, made up of a "great crowd" of book salesmen/women. The great crowd must buy their books from the "anointed remnant" in Brooklyn (or wherever they are headquartered now), and then attempt to resell them to possible converts. Russell was a book salesman, and so was Rutherford - and so on to the present time.

They pride themselves on not taking up collections at their meetings, not mentioning the fact that their main income comes from book sales!!!!!
