Faith Triumphant

“Everything is possible to one who has faith”
Mark 9:23 NEB

Here we have what is possibly one of the most profound statements to come from Jesus. He is making known to us one of the greatest secrets of the Kingdom of God. The Lord informs us that the key which is going to open the door to achievement, conquest, provisions and protection, is FAITH.

There is no limit to what faith is able to achieve. Nothing is able to stand before it, the sea might roar its defiance against the sons of God and the river might overflow its banks but faith is able to help us find a way through the turbulent waters. Faith is able to break into the deepest dungeons of doom and liberate the hearts of the vice bound devil-possessed outcasts chained their in misery. It can give strength to the weary and hope to the hopeless.

Faith is able to give us wings to fly high over any if life’s obstacles, it is deaf to defeatist talk and totally blind to adverse situations. It is able to press through any and all opposition and enables us to touch the hem of the garment of the great Healer that we might receive divine healing even when all other sources have failed.

Faith enables us to see the driest desert blooming as a rose, it helps us see the angelic host standing ground when the enemy seems at his strongest. Faith marches on triumphantly; no power is able to deter it, and no decree able to stop it.

With faith we are able to venture with out fear in the unknown and journey to lands of promise. Faith had not, cannot and will never be vanquished. It is as enduring as love and hope and constantly waves the flag of victory.

Faith is of heavenly origin. It cannot be produced by bible colleges, schools etc, and either inside or outside of the Church. James wrote “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above”. Faith is a gift from God, and one of the most blessed.

Faith is calm and resolute. It sits undeterred among the roaring lions of this life. It sleeps like a babe in front of the executioners axe. In the vocabulary of faiths language you are not going to find words like “Cannot”, “maybe”, “impossible” The vocabulary of faiths language includes words like “Thanks be to God, which giveth us Victory!” Its always going to encourage us to be “more than conquerors”.

But here comes one of the most fantastic things about faith, we do not need a “lot of faith” or even “Big Faith” to see any signs and wonders in our lives and churches, no, if we possess just one grain of faith then we will able to move any size of mountain of opposition from our path and “nothing will be impossible” (Matthew 17:20 and 21)

When we stop to think about it the possibilities for one who possesses just this tiny amount of faith are endless. Without it we are ordinary men and woman, yes with it we can perform exploits to envy the saints of old and life is able to take on new meaning. It aids is to go on an apostolic adventure into the spiritual land of Canaan and take it by storm, kill all the giants and then go on to enjoy the grapes, the milk and the honey.

But how do we get this faith, simple we must become as little children. Its not something for the know-it-alls of this life or even for the worldly wise, no, its for those of us with a simple childlike quality to our believes. Except we become as little children we cannot enter the kingdom of God. It is also true that unless we remain childlike in our belief we wont be able to continue to enjoy the blessings of the kingdom.

Before we close some final thoughts. Faith is not partial. It will grow in the heart of the consecrated heart of the peasant, the priest of the king. The of prayer that should often be on our lips should be “O, Lord increase my faith” let us take hold of this wonderful promise with both hands and strangle it for all its worth, with faith in Christ we are everything, without we are nothing. Remember, “everything is possible to the one who has faith.”
