When the vale is lifted and we are given eyes to see.
We understand that Father Yahweh nor His Messiah would not have nothing to do with any Church.
When we study to show ourselves approved we too will stop going to these evil places.

:hrm:

But you must seek only the place he chooses from all your tribes to establish his name as his place of residence, and you must go there.

Even if this verse applied to the New Covenant, it would simply mean that the only legitimate Church would meet in Jerusalem.

Also, keep in mind:

And let us take thought of how to spur one another on to love and good works, not abandoning our own meetings, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging each other, and even more so because you se the day drawing near.

I know where the word church came from. Do you know where the word temple (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temple) came from? Better stay away from those, too - even the one in Jerusalem should it ever be rebuilt. Maybe cathedrals (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cathedral) are safe?

(the words "temple" and "cathedrals" above are links, btw)

Yes I agree. They would NOT have NOTHING (sic) to do with any church. In other words, they would have something to do with them. Thanks for pointing that out. Astounding. I'm totally amazed. Wow.

Church, from Greek kyriakos "of the Lord", from Greek kyrie "Lord", noun: "the earthly entity, often in buildings, of a group of peole belonging to a given religion, especially Christianity" (wherein, Jesus is "Lord", kyrie-->kyriakos-->church)

The word 'church' comes from the greek word ekklesia, which means 'assembly' or 'congregation'. In that sense, an anti-war protest could be considered a 'church'. It's also used quite often in the NT.

So now, how does Devarim 12 warn us against churches? The only way I can see a case being made using that scripture would be to say that we're commanded against going to heretical churches, but how you could use it against all churches??

There's a church of Swine in East Yorkshire. What do you have against that church? Otherwise, I think you're indulging in procto-etymology.

Aside from any obvious offense Okie I can't find anything in the texts associating churches with swine; however there is some reference to dogs with an appetite for vomit, perhaps this is what you meant? Would that be a 'pack'? ;)

Deut.12:5 gives instruction on a single place.
The other prophets tell when and where this place will be in the Last Days.
It is not a church.
If it were WHICH ONE?
No ,my friend it is the Great Rock of Able.
Just as it has always been.

Are you saying that you believe that God doesn't want you to have religous meetings and assemblies? That is all a church is.

Church is not the same thing as "building full of religious adherents." Church is a broad noun encompassing the believers of an individual faith...
