I thank you for this forum for information.
I have been doing some research on a Church that my friend goes to.
The local church is found here www.reviverministries.com. My first impression that it is of Pentacostal origins, since my friend speaks in tongues and feels the spirit. They call it 'soaking'. They roll on the floor 'soaked' in the spirit. One excerpt from the page, is that he is raising "Joel's Army".
In my research for what Joel's Army is, lead me to the Links on the page, which they have a section that is for Joel's Army Internship. www.freshfire.ca I noticed that they dabble in the Supernatural.
The Reviver ministries in canada is also associated with Harvest Ministries International http://www.heroresources.com/
My question does anyone know anything about these churches? What exactly are they?
Is this part of the Chrismatic theology?
What is the purpose of Joel's army? In my research I found in a few webpages:
http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~revival/holmes1.html
Joel's army has been promoted widely as being a good army, an army
of the church. Many songs, sung in Pentecostal and mainline Evangel-
ical churches even quote the warrior Scriptures as relating to the
church. However I do not hold to that understanding. To me, Joel's
army is one of terrible locusts, "a great and powerful army... before
them is like Eden, after them is desolate" (Joel 2:2,3). This is
similar to the picture I had. Joel says they are "a powerful army,
drawn up for battle, before them the nations are in anguish" (5,6).
Why are the nations terrified of this army? Because they are an
instrument of judgement.
So is this Joels army to take over the current government and they are the replacements?
