Not me. I wanted to see someone provide a good argument for it (not that I will ever go that route). Of course I agree that he probably isn't the one to do so.

There is no good argument for universalism.

If we don't use the Bible, I'll bet we could could invent one.

If one person ends up in eternal torment, some thing is wrong with the master plan.... I got this argument from my human ethics/morals... and my sense of reason.

If one person ends up in eternal torment, some thing is wrong with the master plan.... I got this argument from my human ethics/morals... and my sense of reason. And to get there you had to leave the Bible out of it.

"Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few (Matthew 7:13-14, ESV)

Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for dishonorable use? What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, in order to make known the riches of his glory for vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory-- even us whom he has called, not from the Jews only but also from the Gentiles? (Romans 9:21-24, ESV)

For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things. (Philippians 3:18-19, ESV)

They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might, when he comes on that day to be glorified in his saints, and to be marveled at among all who have believed, because our testimony to you was believed. (2 Thessalonians 1:9-10, ESV)

{color=blue]But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly. [/color] (2 Peter 3:7, ESV)

pssst, Raphael, those passages don't say anything about what shadowmaster referred to, namely, eternal torment.

But this thread is supposed to be about the debate between these two guys....
