Long story short, I'm shopping for a new desktop. Looked at the systems at WalMart and although the EMachines were interesting I decided I might try a Dell. Now can anybody tell me how easily I can have the RAM upgraded on it at a later date? Most I can see off the shelf is 2 GB, and I know I could customize with more memory online....so, would it be more difficult if I add more memory after I buy a system?

AIM starts for me just fine, but after awhile, it freezes in a way that I can't switch to the AIM window at all and see who's on or chat with anyone. What can I do to fix this?

Hi windows installer tries to install photogallery (which I dont have) on startup. It wont do anything until I get task manager and "End task" it. I have tried downloading windows installer, installing it and then uninstallling it (last night) but this didn't help. Need someone with skill in this area to help me please. I know I should just uninstall windows permanently, but I would like another solution. Thanks, luv1anothers BF

Okay, maybe a partial membership. I got an iPod Touch. And on my first day I downloaded like 15 or 20 free apps. Mostly games, but a few others, like Facebook and Pandora. Man alive, I love this thing. So my question is, what other free apps does everyone recommend?

I had the repair guy out today to check my dsl. It looks like my modem crapped out. But he said he only had Leopard for a few months until he partitioned his drive and put both Leopard and Tiger on there. Is there an advantage to doing that? I can't think of anything I need to use Tiger for anymore, but I might be overlooking something.

I like to use iTunes, even though I use Windows Vista. However, when I move a file to a different place, iTunes doesn't "see" the change. It keeps the files where they were original, even when they aren't there. This is annoying. How do I make iTunes see the updates I make manually in the folders? Thanks. :)

So tell me some principles! I do know not to get operator-overload happy, nor to do exotica like virtual base classes unless constrained to do so. Amazon has used Leopard disks on sale for 80 to 90 dollars. They're cheap because they are 10.5 only. They say, however, that you can upgrade to 10.5.6 with online upgrades, supposedly free. Is this a good thing? Is there anybody that has experience with this sort of thing? If not, I can get a new copy of 10.5.6 for 110 from Amazon.

I finally downloaded this recently after reading much praise for the program. Hey gang! I am at a the apartment of the lovely :pat: and friends. They've asked me to secure their wireless network. It is a linksys wireless router WRT54G. I am having problems setting up WPA security. It works fine with my Vista laptop but it gets a "no response" error from the xp machines in apartment. Delicious Library 2, which I got for free at MacHeist (retail 40 dollars), is freaking awesome. It uses a webcam or iSight (my built in option) to scan the barcodes. Saves me almost 100 dollars for a scanner. I love it. Now...I get to scan my whole library and rearrange it. Woot!\ :teeth:

So I'm kinda glad Tiger Direct screwed up my first order. After I got my refunds from them, I ordered new and much better computer. Okay... Apparently, I've come into some money lately, so I've decided to buy a Macbook for school (currently very high in my priority list, especially for note-taking ). I wouldn't mind getting a new one, but my peers have told me that refurbished stuff off the website is of almost new quality. I'm not finding a lot of books dealing with Tiger. I'm finding a few books on Panther, and a handful more dealing with Leopard.
