Yes, persecution tends to bring people to the bare essentials, and cause them to unite. But I don't think cults can survive, that's why free countries seem to have all the cults and denominations.

Have you ever worshiped at an "underground" church in secret? If not, would you want to experience the persecuted church experience?

No, not really. I did some "roll playing" once where some members of my church "pretended" to be "Secret Police" type, but never for real.

Would I want to experience that type of persecution? I'm not sure. I have said before that I think the church in the US is suffering due (in part) to a lack of persecution. Whether I personally would want to experience it????? Not really. Though I would like to see how I would handle it, but not enough to actuall want to experience real persecution.

Have you ever performed in a play? If so what play(s)?

Yes. I was in MacBeth in the 8th grade.
I played the part of Fleance, a boy...which was interesting since I'm a girl...I got to wear those stylish 'pumpkin breeches'...and I had 1 line (I planned it that way! :) )
That's the only one I have acted in, but I have done tons of backstage work.

Can you/do you line dance?

No and no. I have made a few pathetic attempts, but even at the beginner level, I was pretty bad. For some reason, I can't get my feet to move in rhythm. (I have a good sense of rhythm, I am a musician and my hands and fingers can move in time quite well).

Is that odd?

Yep. Now if only your feet can get the hang of stepping in time...

Whereas I can sing (a bit) and dance okay, I can't for my life figure out how to play my acoustic guitar.

Isn't that weird?

No.
I can sing. I can play guitar.
I can't do both at the same time.

What special talent do you have?

I play piano, drums, I like music recording, web design, Photoshop, professional computer repair (by trade), specialized in data recovery, networks, programming Visual Basic, PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS. Windows Server, operating systems from DOS, 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP, and Vista, but never got into the Linux thing. Did Macs once though.
Cats are my thing, no dogs allowed. I teach in Sunday school to the preschoolers, also did kindergarten age, play in worship team as well, and am in a band and we just finished recording at the studio a few weeks ago.
I have a talent of being well liked by children, they warm to me fast, I love kids, I love hanging out with them.
I also am an average handy man, I've build sheds and barns and dogs houses and chicken coops and goat milking stands, stair cases, decks. I've done roofing, shingling, as well as landscaping, sheet rock install, electrical wiring, plumbing, general construction, framing, and all that. I also know a little about wood working in general, though I've been out of the practice. I enjoy studying health and fitness, exercise and dieting and massage. I've also got in to mechanics a little and studying a tad about that, and worked on a motorcycle once.
I did the farm thing for a while, planted fields of crops, rode horses, milked cows, collected eggs. I've raised rabbits, ducks, turkeys, pigs, goats, horses, cows, peacocks, dogs, cats. I've spent dreadful nights birthing cows and goats, and feeding baby livestock with bottles. I've churned butter, skimmed milk the old fashion way, and washed poop off the fresh eggs before eating them. I've been bitten by horses, stepped on by cows, rammed by goats, pecked by roosters, and chased by bulls (not all by mistake or accident! Running from bulls is quite fun.)
And I cut my own hair.

That about covers what some may call talents. Though it is augmented by the fact that I am an INTJ, I have few close friends, I enjoy alone time and my introverted ways. I'm known as "weird" because of my odd humorous personality and vocal talents. And apparently I don't know how to dress myself. I can be dyslexic at times, sometimes I go to put the cereal in the fridge or the milk in the trash, things like that. And I fear my memory is not so good, I'm always forgetting words I'm trying to remember, even common words, I'm terrible with names, absolutely terrible, and I'm not a conversationalist.

Was that more than your question bargained for?

It was certainly more than I was expecting, but that was great!

What would you do if you got $50,000 tomorrow?

Pay off my car payment, buy a new computer, a new bass amp, give 10% (or maybe a little more) to my church, save the rest.

Is that boring?

No way, as a teenager I once made an 8 page dual column Word doc on how I'd spend a million bucks, to the last penny. But paying off house and car and debts and investing/saving some, helping out family, and giving to my church, would be tops.

What is the most damaging ideological phrase that this last century has seen?

God helps those who help themselves..?

I don't know if that's really right to say, but it's the first that came to mind. "Helping yourself" has been used out of context at times to justify all kinds of evil.

If could view (but not interact with) one day in history, what would it be?

Probably the Resurrection. First non-Biblical choice July 3, 1863 (third day of Gettyesburg or maybe July 2, 1863 second day).

Do you like history?
